Last Saturday I went to Houston to see Wicked with Dorothy, Nicole, Richard, Laura, Joey, and Mrs. Nikki. All I can say is that it was amazing. The Glinda for that performance was the second understudy, but she sounded just as good (or better) than the original Glinda on Broadway. If only Idina Menzel was there....
I left with a playbill signed by the whole cast that is now up on my wall.

After the holidays there's only one week of classes left this semester (not counting finals) and then we have a month and a half off. No complaints here. After that, I'm done with English and formal Math classes for this lifetime.

For some bizarre reason I haven't seen Chance in a few months, but I ran into him today after Calculus. He taught me that it's OK to wear grandpa slippers with a pentagram hoodie haha.

It's freezing in this house and I love it. That's all for now.

My laptop has a virus and I still can't get rid of it. I did all the normal virus removal steps, but none of those will kill it.

My dad bought two more of those Star Wars puzzles we used to make when school first started. He wants to frame the whole set of 4. They're 2-sided, and I did both Dark Side sides. Anakin looks genuinely wicked.

Corie and I are starting a new band, so if you play rhythm (took me forever to spell that right) guitar or bass let one of us know. My plans are for it to be epic...or close.

All my exams except Bio. lecture are finished, so I can finally relax. I slaughtered the lab mid-term today without mercy (I was expecting it to be a disaster). That means it's movie time.

I've been busy doing lab reports, career action plans, and studying for numerous exams lately...which is why I haven't updated in a while. Anyway, I have A's in all of my classes so far. Next week will be hell, as I have a test in every subject and 2 in Biology. I've been having to set what I like to call "landmark dates" to keep me going...such as Halloween, Wicked, Thanksgiving, and finally the end of the semester. In short, I'm way too stressed out.

My guitar playing has gotten a lot better in the past few weeks, because I channel all my frustrations into musical form. I'd look into minoring in music if it weren't for all the theory classes. Also, Dorothy and I have been spending almost all our free time together. She makes me happier than I can possibly attempt to describe with words.

Coheed and Cambria are allegedly still playing their show in N.O., so I'm definitely going to look into tickets. My laptop's about to die, so I'll update more later.

I finally have curtains in my living room now, which means weirdos can't look in through the windows anymore. I can't wait until the weekend. I have a test in almost every subject this week and the biology one this morning was definitely not my best display of intelligence. Tomorrow I meet with the admissions officer for the college of nursing...and I'm hoping he's impressed enough to let me in.

Last Saturday was the homecoming dance at Vandebilt. It was really fun, and I got to gorge myself at IHOP after haha. Our picture came out cute (for lack of a better word to describe it). It's hard to describe, but everyone's gotten a good chuckle out of it so far.

The new Coheed and Cambria record is amazing....so anyone that didn't pick it up should do so. Blah, I have an English test to study for.

School has been keeping me reasonably busy for the past week. It's nice to get off around noon every day, but I have a bad feeling my lack of studying will soon catch up with me. I'm fairly convinced that I want to change my major from Pre-med to Nursing. I have no desire to go to medical school, and supposedly Nicholls has a top notch nursing program that only takes 4 years to complete.

Emo and I hung out this afternoon for the first time in a long while...I can't even begin to explain the hilarity that ensued. Still, it's pretty boring around my house tonight due to the fact that Dorothy is with the band at VC's football game and there's nothing good on TV. That reminds me...I advise against going to see The Exorcism of Emily Rose unless you want a bland courtroom drama with one or two mildly scary clips. It was pretty disappointing...so much potential.

The new Coheed and Cambria record (Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Vol. 1: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness) comes out this Tuesday. Unfortunately, I couldn't resist hearing Dorothy's leaked copy for more than a few days...which sort of ruins the release day excitement. Either way, I'll assure you that it's amazing...every song is of the highest quality.

Well, I need to get some sleep...so that's all.

Well, summer's basically over...so I'll probably end up updating this more often. Tonight Dorth and I went school supply shopping in Houma..and thanks to my desire for Coheed/Metallica, she found a cool messenger bag at Sam Goody. Afterwards we headed to Starbucks to feed my craving for a mocha frappacino (sp?).

Philip, Corie, and I wrote/recorded a song the other day. It sounds alright, but I think our influences come across a little too obviously...and my solo is definitely Zeppelin inspired. It stills needs vocals, so I have to work on that in my dwindling free time. I'm working on a new song as I'm typing. It's leaning more towards thrash...yay.

Ughhh..I need to get my sleeping pattern back on track...and all the caffeine drinks aren't helping. Our new furniture SHOULD come in tomorrow. The living room has been empty since Tuesday so I've been having to lay on the floor. Well, that's enough for now.

Ok, so Eserman had this in her journal and I thought it would be fun. Go nuts.

1. Reply with your name and I'll write something about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. If you were a fruit you'd be...
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to me and you.
5. I will tell you my first memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll tell you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. Put this in your journal.

This entry is dedicated to Chance St. Pierre and is entitled Cinema Violence in America. Do violent scenes in films contribute to suggestable youth turning to guns/knives? The answer is no. If that were the case, I'd have several heads mounted on my own wall. If a child can't distinguish between movies and reality, it's the parents' responsibility to instill these differences in him/her. Do not force those of us who love bloody brutal slayings in our movies to do without simply because little Johnny blew off his buddy's head with a 12-gauge and blamed it on the crazy guy at the beginning of Amityville Horror. You could just as easily make scapegoats of hunters, grandpa's war stories, and the NRA (this means you Charlton Heston)...yet I see no parents or government lackeys whining about them. In conclusion, fuck you Barbara Streisand.

On another note, I am 41% American.

EDIT: I highly recommend the Megadeth Greatest Hits CD.

I'm feeling slightly ill and have run out of movies to watch, so I suppose I'll update. I got my laptop a few weeks ago, and of course the first thing I did was install an SW game haha. Seriously, if you're a Star Wars nerd and enjoy video games, invest in Knights of the Old Republic....you won't be disappointed.

Dorothy and I went to see Lords of Dogtown the other day...I knew I couldn't resist for long, despite what I'd heard from "critics". I found the AFI retrospective picture disk I'd been looking for at HT last Friday. I didn't see it at first and almost ended up with a Descendents EP instead.

Corie gets back from Mississippi on Wednesday, so we'll finally be able to get a practice in (provided I loan Philip one of my old basses). That reminds me...in just a few short weeks, I can finally afford the guitar I've been pining for (ebony w/chrome hardware). Behold:
http://www.gibson.com/Products/GibsonElectric/Gibson%20Electric%20Guitars/LesPaul/Studios/Studio/#

Although I was looking forward to seeing NIN play for the MTV Movie Awards (despite the fact that the new record was a disappointment), Foo Fighters did a great job as replacements. I've yet to figure out why I continue to watch these shows....none of my picks ever win. Whatever...I'm going find some cold pizza and put on a few records. Good evening.

EDIT: I've been having fun with the infamous "owned" pics lately...so I thought I'd post a few of my favorites hahahaha.

Well, last night was graduation. Free at last. The ceremony itself wasn't exactly noteworthy, but it was nice to see everyone at the party afterwards, especially Dorothy.

I saw Episode III again the other night and caught a few parts I missed the first time around. My mom kept calling my phone towards the end...so thinking something was wrong, I went outside and called her. Turns out she just wanted to ask me a completely meaningless question..which caused me to miss perhaps the best part of the movie. Maybe I'll get the whole thing next time.

It's almost time for Warped tour. There's only about 4 bands I actually want to see, and only 2 I'd be willing to pay for. Probably won't even bother. AFI will be on tour again soon enough.

Episode III was quite the amazing movie. I did notice a few flaws, and the acting was about what I'd expect from a Star Wars film (expect for Obi-Wan and Palpatine)...but all in all I give it a thumbs up. I'll probably see it a few more times before I'm through.

Dorothy and I have been spending a lot of time together lately...and that's definitely a good thing. I couldn't be happier. Anyway...in keeping with the SW theme, take this quiz people.

Well, the stage of life known as high school is finally over for me. Unfortunately, I did the classic "wake up, look at the clock, yell that I'm late for school, dash to get dressed, and finally realize my stupidity" deal this morning.

Last night was the band banquet, which was made much more bearable by Dorothy's company. I took pictures with many people, including Davey (she's close enough right? haha), Caitlin (I finally got to wear her tiara), Emo and Alyssa, and of course Blaine, Philip, and Eserman. I'm really going to miss those guys.

I suppose I've been slacking on the updates lately, and since I'm quarantined at the moment, this seems as good a time as any. Last night was Dorothy's band dance at Vandy. I had a lovely time, despite the fact that I was probably the worst date ever due to my constant coughing and sniffling. Wonderful girl that Dorothy Brignac...

Anyways, I'm in the middle of my own little Star Wars marathon (although I'm constantly dozing off). I have a bad habit of skipping ahead to the lightsaber duels...I must have a weird fixation with bright lights and severed limbs haha. I need to borrow Clone Wars from Fish before we go to see Ep. III...I always missed them when they played on TV.

I spent the better part of Thursday night typing/preparing/mailing graduation announcements in hopes that I'll receive enough revenue to finish financing my Les Paul, despite the fact that I hardly know about half of the people I sent one to. Shallow? Yes. Effective? Definitely. haha

Well, that's all for me. Farewell.

Last night was prom. Dorothy looked amazing and I had a great time. The limo driver had no idea how to get to Houma nor Thibodaux, so that made things rather interesting. Before I got ready, I apparently stuck a q-tip too far in my right ear, so I couldn't hear out of it all night haha. Dorothy had to prod me whenever someone talked to me from that side. I didn't win Mr. CLHS (darn! hah), but I'm certain I was 4th runner up...right guys? haha

After the dance, we all went to Philip's for a while. Tyler Blanchard nearly broke his arm when he fell off the stairs while trying to slide down the rail, and Brian broke a toe on some pipe on the floor. There was also far too much talcalm powder in the air, and I'm surprised I didn't end up antiqued like Quinn and Brian by the end of the night.

Well I'm going back to sleep, so leave me comments.
